Are You …..

Thursday, December 30th, 2010

…. pretty proud of yourself?  Physically, financially, or with your wisdom attainment?  It’s true, ego is a beneficial factor as long as it doesn’t completely govern your activities and your life.

The physically handsome or beautiful are always so busy trying to stay that way, and the financial wizards are constantly on the clutching side (with ulcers) while the wisdom hungry are always so busy with stacks of books that they seldom have the time or patience it takes to appreciate the God given gifts around them:

  • -the song of a meadowlark
  • -the freshness of a spring rain
  • -the warmth in a friendly handclasp

Remember the lyrics of the old song — “The Best Things In Life Are Free”??  The longer we live the more truth we find in this song!

Take time in 2011 to think about “the best things in life!” and we, at Bearings Incorporated, want to wish you a Happy New Year, and a Prosperous 2011!!!

Nothing in this world ……….

…. can take the place of persistence.

Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent.

Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.

Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.

Persistence and determination along are omnipotent.  The slogan “PressOn” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

Calvin Coolidge

This reflects the attitude of Bearings Incorporated.  Bearings Incorporated has evolved from horse and buggy stage as a blacksmith, to springs with the arrival of the automobile (horseless carriage) to the world, to bearings and into the Internet.  I know we’ve said a number of times of the upcoming NEW website at WWW.BEARINGSINC.NET, and our excitement for the “opening day”.  The date is getting closer, and once it does arrive; the site will be changing on a regular basis; to keep it alive and interesting.

Press On ……….

Merry Christmas

Run down from all that good holiday eating???
Bearings Incorporated would like to wish you a most safe and happy holiday season !!!

A recipe for a Merry Christmas …..

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

Take the crisp cold of  a December night, add two generous parts of snow, stir in air so clear it tinkles.  Into a generous heart, mix the wonder of a little girl, the sparkle of a young boy’s glance, the love of parents, and set gently before the chimney side.

Add the lightest touch of a reindeer’s hooves, a sprig of holly, a scent of fir.  Set the mixture to rise in the warmth of a dream of good will to men.

It will be almost ready to serve when it bubbles with warmth and good feeling.

Bedeck with the light of a star set in the East, garnish with shining balls of gold, silver and red.  Serve to the tune of an ancient carol in the middle of the family table.  This recipe is sufficient for all the men and women you’ll ever meet.

Merry Christmas to all!

To close the year .. we will go with more subtle, softer subjects ..

Tuesday, December 21st, 2010

With the close of the year upcoming, the subjects will be more relaxed, quieter and less technical. They are articles I have found through general reading, and feel they can add a touch of “personality” to our Blog.

Clarence Frances commented:
You can buy people’s time; you can buy their physical presence at a given place; you can even buy a measured number of their skilled muscular motions per hour. But you cannot buy enthusiasm … you cannot buy loyalty … you cannot buy the devotion of hearts, minds, or souls. You must earn these.

We, at Bearings Incorporated, reflect these feelings from our employee’s length of stay, as well as our “return rate”. Both Kathy and myself are “returnee’s” – left to follow other paths in our lives, and have returned to “home base” so to speak. We now enjoy the longevity of working at Bearings Incorporated, and I can only speak for myself, when I say that even with the troubles of an occasional day, I would not want to work anywhere else.

We, at Bearings Incorporated, are coming to the close of our year, and we can again, acknowledge the fact, that we are still in business going strong.  Stick around with us while we grow.  Grow with us and help us with our successes of years to come.

Isn’t It Funny ?

Thursday, December 16th, 2010

Isn’t it Funny?  When the other fellow takes a long time to do something, he’s slow.  But when I take a long time to do something, I’m thorough.  When the other fellow doesn’t do it, he’s too lazy.  But when I don’t do it, I’m too busy.  When the other fellow goes ahead and does something without being told, he’s overstepping his bounds.  But when I go ahead and do something without being told, that’s initiative!  When the other fellow states his side of a question strongly, he’s bullheaded.  But when I states a side of a question strongly, I’m being firm.  When the other fellow overlooks a few of the rules of etiquette, he’s rude..  But when I skip a few of the rules, I’m original.  When the other fellow does something that pleases the boss, he’s polishing the brass.  But when I do something that pleases the boss, that’s cooperation. When the other fellow gets ahead, he sure had the lucky breaks.  But when I manage to get ahead, Man! Hard work did that!

Funny, isn’t it — or is it!?

No this has nothing to do with bearings, seals, and belts and the other product we sell.  I’ve chosen to do a few NON-technical postings to rebuild my plan so I can come out running again.
